I wish Americans would stand for principles instead of a man but I don’t think they ever will.
If Trump actually had principles and stood for, what were once, real American values (or at least some Americans) like: very limited government, ending the Fed (no central banksters), staying out of other countries’ affairs, free trade, reducing the debt, massively cutting the size of government, military for actual Defense – not Aggression, the States taking back power so that they could nullify unconstitutional laws, Free Markets (and I mean FREE – no government involvement at all) no Income Tax (a tax on your labor means you’re a slave) repealing all drug and firearms laws and continuing…
LIBERTY… Letting people live their own lives, free of government involvement, however they see fit so long as they don’t violate anyone else’ right to their property or themselves to live their lives however they choose and NAP – The Non Aggression Principle, which applies equally to the government and it’s agents as do all other laws –
Now that would be a President to support but the sad fact is that neither he nor the vast majority of other politicians in the country believes any of that and yet, they’ll keep getting voted into office to RUN OUR LIVES and steal our money. You know, just because you vote for your masters doesn’t make you any less a slave.
Government IS the problem and as long as people continue to believe that the State is necessary for society to function, then we’ll continue to be ruled by evil people whose primary ambition will be to enlarge the size and scope of their power by enlarging the size and the scope of government. (Isn’t this exactly what has happened to the US?)
Consider the people of Israel, who at one time, had no king and not realizing how good they had it, asked God for a king. God warned them what would happen if they had a king but they wanted to be like everyone else. Big mistake, because just as God had warned them, their kings put burdens on the people, imposing taxes, sending their sons to war, using resources for their own purposes and many other problems but the people got their king. “Be careful what you wish for” right?
I think creating the office of the Presidency was a mistake (I really think the entire thing was a mistake but for the sake of argument) because ultimately, instead of Americans choosing to maintain their sovereignty, they gave it up for a KING. Everyone is looking for THE man to save us from all our problems but when the THE man is a part of the form of government that has given us what we now have and in fact, is responsible for ALL the problems we have, how can HE “save us”? What a joke!
Look, I don’t think we need a Federal government at all but if you just have to have it then its only job should be to secure our liberties. That was supposed to be the idea of the Constitution and the Enumerated Powers. It was to limit the government but let’s face it, it didn’t work and there are no “right” people to get into office. Once the people found out they could elect themselves GIFTS and that the politicians were happy to get them those gifts in exchange for power and money, the party was over.
The Declaration Of Independence states that it is the duty of the people to abolish the government when it becomes tyrannical, but who has the stomach for that? Very few. “Give me Liberty or…… or else I’ll cry!” Most Americans are more than willing to give up their liberty for security. As we all saw, after 9/11 the most massive assault on liberty ever seen in this country took place with the passing of the (so called) Patriot Act.
Trump will not save this country, only the people can save it and since most people are too apathetic and complacent to even understand that government and not just who is in office, is the problem, there is little hope of that happening. The answer to the problem is liberty and freedom and that’s something the government has no interest in today and unfortunately, neither do the people for some strange reason. Maybe it’s because the government gives them an illusion of freedom and an overwhelming sense of Nationalism or as I call it, Hyper-Nationalism. It’s like we are inside this box and “they” let you move all around inside the box of democracy but if you try to get outside of it you will soon find that you have none of the freedom you thought you had. Most people will never try to get out so they go on believing the illusion provided by their rulers who have everything under control… their control – Until they don’t, because it will all come crashing down one day and then what? Liberty or full blown Socialism?
If you think people should be able to live their own lives free from government coercion and theft then consider joining the Libertarian Party. I think it’s at least a step in the right direction. Go to LP.ORG to register and support people who actually believe in libertarian principles: The NAP, Liberty, Property Rights and Voluntarism not coercion.
Government is a parasite that will feed on it’s host until there’s no life left in it and then it too will seemingly perish only to be resuscitated by new hosts who believe in the necessity of its existence until they realize that it’s the government that needs them and not they who need the government.
