Internet Freedom: The U.S. Congress is at it Again!
In an interview with the Guardian Google’s Sergey Brin, warns of his fear of the eventual loss of Internet Freedom. All over the globe many governments, including that of the U.S., are eventually going to put an end to our internet freedom and this unprecedented freedom of speech and information that the world has seen, since the inception of the Gutenberg Press, will likely come to an end
The U.S. Congress has already tried and failed to pass the SOPA bill which, was taken off the house floor due to a ground swell of protest from congressional constituents but they aren’t giving up. A new bill has recently been introduced that is another attempt by lawmakers to steel away Internet Freedom: Sharing & Protection Act’ CISPA (HR 3523). Of course it is the opinion of this blogger that, freedom steeling, in general, seems to be the number one priority of most of governments around the world and I’m pretty certain the USA is at the forefront of the movement, considering it’s recent efforts to create new laws for regulating and restricting Internet Freedom along with obliterating our 4th Amendment Right’s, 2nd Amendment Right’s and much more.
Internet Freedom is the Enemy of Tyranny and Fascism
You have to ask yourself, why they are afraid of internet freedom? I believe they are afraid of what all governments, occupied by tyrants and fascist are afraid of, they are afraid of losing their grip and having their plans of the New World Order go down the tubes.
At this point they have been very successful at using the, fear mongering meme to take away many of our freedoms but with the proliferation of information it’s not long until a few people, who have more than a couple of brain cells to rub together, start asking all the wrong questions which, leads to the right answers to what their motives really are. Internet freedom means information is able to flow freely and as God told the people of Israel in Hosea: “…the people are destroyed for the lack of knowledge..”, really no different than it was during the dark ages. When the general population is denied information or access to it, those who are in power can easily delude the people and maintain their power.
Anyway, here is a link to the article. http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/2012/apr/15/web-freedom-threat-google-brin . I think Brin makes some good points. And some interesting points about Facebook as well.
