Yeah, And I’ve Got a Bridge to sell too!
You should have seen that one coming. The truth is that, in order to fix the current government you’d have to end it first. However, that being said I’d like to suggest that unless we understand how we got to this point things will end up even worse on the other side of the inevitable collapse.
People seem to think that if we just get the right people into office that they will fix it but think about it. We’ve been going back and forth now for centuries, voting in Republicans and or Democrats. (Previously known by other names throughout American history) So how’s that been working out for us? Seems to me that regardless of which party is in power, things continue to degenerate.
I’ve said it many times, as have others, that expecting the entity that created the problems to suddenly be able to fix what they’ve broken is an utterly ridiculous notion, but it is, nonetheless, what many believe, no doubt because of their government education which has either deadened or completely killed their ability to think critically. Of course, the government has a vested interest in making certain their tax paying constituents toe-the-line.
The public’s prevailing view of government, believing in the necessity of government and its ability to rectify all wrongs also comes from a cultural shift where many have bought into the ideal of collectivism, another ideal purported by our institutions of “higher” learning. These institutions have been systematically indoctrinating those who teach our children for many decades so they can get the desired results, taking malleable little minds and growing them up into non ideologues who will question little and be susceptible to fear mongering so that they’ll continue to pay their taxes and support the Military Industrial Complex and the institution of Government.
It is a misgnomer calling government schools “public”. Many people have been led to believe that they are actually in control of what their children are being taught but they’re not. It is likely that most parents not only don’t know what their children are being taught but they’re too busy to do anything about it and even if they did suspect something nefarious might be going on they ultimately end up trusting their children’s brains to this paternal establishment called the government who may not have their best interest at heart, as I’ve pointed out above.
Interventionism Is The Real Problem
The Government, the Federal Reserve and their interventionist policies are the problem but people still seem to think it’s all about “the who” and not “the what” the “what” being the system itself. Every once in a while a Ronald Reagan or a Donald Trump comes along who seem to be, at least somewhat, anti-establishment and “Flyover Americans” get all excited and vote them into office thinking that this one single man is going to upset the bureaucratic apple cart to such a degree that everything will change. This sort of populism is no solution because regardless of who is at the helm, the deep state is manning the engine room and controlling the wheel of this massive bureaucratic ship and appointing a shiny new captain every fours years has little to no effect as to the direction of the ship.
Until the people realize that the people don’t need the government but rather, it’s the government that needs the people (paying passengers on their government ship) there will be no resolution to the current self destructive path before us. I believe that until the people are in unbearable pain they will not give up the ideal of a nationalistic government regardless of the fact that such governments always bring death and destruction as they parasitically suck the life from the productive parts of society.
So, my fellow Americans, continue to beat your breasts and decry “We are America, the greatest nation on earth and at least we’re free!” That delusion will soon end, unless we remember that it is not for security that the heart yearns but it is for liberty. We need to be free of government coercion and let each person be secure in their liberty, owning themselves and their property that they have gotten by their own labours and to letting people live their lives in whatever way they choose so long as they don’t aggress against others and infringe upon their right to their own bodies and property. If you believe that you have a superior way then let the strength of your argument be the only weapon of coercion you may use and not the government forcing your values upon others at the end of a gun barrel.
Any government that is ever formed by a group of people has no authority to do anything that any persons of the group who formed them has. If you, as an individual may not steal, murder, rape, commit fraud, break your contracts or any other act of violence (except self defense) or extortion against another’s person or property, then government may not do these things either since governments, after all, are just people as well are they not?
Personally, it doesn’t really matter to me long term, as I believe there’s more to life than this life. I believe there will be no lasting peace until the Prince of Peace comes and even then there won’t be peace, initially but I don’t know when that will be, so in the meantime I do think about my children and my grandchildren and what sort of world they will have to live in.
For now, I will put in my Two Cents Worth, as it were, and try to convince others that they need to at the least, quit voting for Republicans and Democrats! The two party system and the system as a whole has failed and it’s not just this system but it’s all human government, it has always failed and it always will. Voting for your oppressors shouldn’t make you feel any better about being a slave.
But I know change doesn’t come easily for most so might I suggest that you check into the Libertarian Party and when you do learn what a real libertarian believes and come to realize that this is what any red blooded, liberty loving American should believe. Then, support the candidates who actually believe in libertarian principles and maybe someday America can be a place where liberty is always preferred to security and markets are free from government intervention and the right of free association and property are preeminent. An America free from coercion where people no longer are extorted by their government having their labor stolen and a place where, if there is any governance, it will be obligated to keep the same laws and rules as any individual must keep. Isn’t that how it should be?
NAP – The Non Aggression Principle and Property Rights should be the basis of a civilized society. Nobody has the right to aggress or use violence against anyone else’ person or property.
Go to LP.org and read the Platform. It’s pretty good.
