Hawaii Five-O Television Drama or Propaganda Tool?
I’ve said for a long time now that the primary function of television drama shows is not entertainment but rather, it’s the primary vehicle the U.S. Government uses for propaganda. Episode 100 of Hawaii Five-O, which aired on 04-25-14, was an unabashed example of the Governments co-opting of Hollywood. By feeding the public a steady diet of “the sky is falling” scenario and your neighbor, your uncle and and half the people you know are probably terrorists they hope to keep us all in a perpetual state of fear and convince the American people they must give up their freedom for the sake of security.
Have you notice how many of the alleged terrorists in these shows, more often than not, seem to be Caucasian. And then there’s the whole, you know, “domestic terrorists” terminology being bantered around. Another propaganda buzz term.
In this episode of Hawaii Five-O one of the main perpetrators of the “terrorism” is a white female. Steve McGarret, interviewing the captured female terrorist, is told by her that she’s NOT the only one, there are many more, to which McGarret replies that it doesn’t matter because for every one of her kind of people, there are thousands of his kind of people and they are willing to die for what they believe as well. He also informed her that she and her kind will never change our way of life.
Now that last part about changing our way of life really had me rolling in the proverbial aisle because the fear of terrorism has done just that. With the implementation of the Patriot Act, life as we once knew it, was completely turned on it’s ear as we experienced the biggest loss of liberty and freedom America has seen since the Civil War when the Constitution was set aside for an alleged, “greater cause”.
It really seems quite obvious the main purpose of these shows is to keep people believing we are in imminent danger and that the source of that danger is primarily from rogue citizens influenced by radical Islam or maybe even other “anti-government” types like those who follow Ron Paul or other liberty loving patriots who believe we ought to actually follow the Constitution. (Albeit, the Constitution is not without it’s flaws)
Yes, there’s a terrorist under every rock and more than likely he or she is your neighbor, at least that’s what the character in the episode purported. She said “we’re” the ones serving you coffee, helping you checkout at the grocer, your neighbor… so on and so forth. Really! They may be selling it but I, for one, am not buying it. If you are then I hate to be the one to inform you but you are guilty of believing the “big lie” that our government is just trying to protect us.
The primary function of the U.S. Government was to secure our liberty and not to protect us from every threat, to our physical being, that may come along. That job was to be left to individuals (A little thing called the 2nd Amendment) and State Militias because once you arm a centralized government to the hilt there’s the real danger that “the people” will be unable to defend themselves against that government when IT decides that IT is more important than the people which it was created to serve. This is exactly was has happened and now our government extorts the income of it’s citizens by threat of force and sends it’s children to fight endless wars at the behest of global bankers and international corporations, all under the guise of the very tired mantra of “we send our troops over there so we won’t have to fight “them” over here.” Yeah, right…. whatever.
Well anyway, when it comes to the media these days I think that John Mayer said best in his lyric, “…when they own the information, oh they can bend it all they want.” I’m not telling you to quit watching your favorite TV drama but I hope you at least watch them with a critical eye and realize what’s really going on and for goodness sake, don’t fall for it. Personally I can’t stand watching the crap with it’s “in your face” propaganda. Just drives me bonkers that they think I’m really that stupid.
